  • Are There Any Factors That Make a Difference? “i’m just curious about people. And ive ben all different walks of life, and they’ve fled different and interesting lives,” she says. “I feel like i had a different friend group a it made it really easy for me to shift around.” Transcript: Speaker 1 Year i had a different friend group a it made it really easy for me to shift around and get to know different types of people. And he makes this really interesting distinction, you know, what he calls sort of the four archetypes of happiness. You have the sort of hedonistic pleasure seeker and people who spend their id places like burning mad eta. Transcript: Speaker 2 It’s is suc funny. Speaking of pleasurelik, i just had ah tall ben char here, the guy who basically runs a happiness course at harvard, is a kind of, you know, outside of a martin salligman, probably the Other godfather of this whole positive psychology movement. And he makes this really interesting distinction, you know, what he calls sort of the four archetypes of happiness. And he sais, you know, tha, you have the sort of hedonistic pleasure seeker, which you kind of see, you know, with people who do a lot of drugs, people who spend their id places like burning Mad eta, like this is their in a sole existence, but they have to keep seeking a pleasure mechanism, because the pleasure doesn’t last. But i think the’re a lot of people whave been disconnected for a while, but real pleasure is fulfilling. And if wou’re having that kind of hidonistic pleasure, that’s ok. This week end is really, really fun. But next week im woing to be paying for it, and i got to find another way to to excite myself the week.
