- What Was It Like Being 20? When i was 20, i had a lot of self doubt. I still absolfe don to day. Did you have any of those anxieties at all? Not as much as i should have. Two things really hold te maybe three. One, having just a really loving and supportif family. Two, performing. Transcript: Matt Mullenweg I think what happened was my family saw that. They just saw the fire in my eyes, the passion. And so ultimately became supportive. And I negotiated for a higher salary, probably from 70 to 90 or something. Wow. And you were making more money than your dad had ever made in his life, probably. I found out later that it was higher than his salary at the time, because he was kind of bitter, not bittersweet, he was happy for me. But I could tell he had a little bit of forlorn as I told him the news. And then later he started his own business where he made a lot more, again, doing the exact same work he’s been doing for 25 years. It’s (Time 0:30:21)
